Judges comments - September 2018

'Providing gluten free dishes is obviously very important, there are signs up throughout the restaurant mentioning food allergies, there are GF products dotted around and the waitress asks as she hands out the menus if anyone at the table has an allergy or intolerance. In fact, almost all of their dinner menu is gluten free.

The food was very good but I was slightly disappointed as I remembered how amazing it had been last year – maybe I just chose the wrong things! I had prawn cocktail to start then steak pie. The portion sizes were huge so we couldn't manage dessert although they sounded lovely!

I'd definitely go back again and try something else on the menu (and make sure I have room for dessert!). It's so nice to see a small B&B in the middle of nowhere taking allergies so seriously and catering with such a wide range of dishes. Since the majority of the menu is gluten free, I can't help wonder why they don't get rid of the last few gluten-containing meals and make it a 100% GF menu...'
