Judges comments - September 2018

'When I made the booking I felt that they took food allergies very seriously. In fact one person phoned back to check that they had spelt "tapioca" correctly. Upon arrival the staff were extremely welcoming. As soon as we entered the restaurant they confirmed who we were and which ingredients they needed to avoid.

The gluten free menu was extensive. The waiter asked me to make my selection then they would speak to the chef to adjust the dishes according to the other ingredients I am unable to eat. As my non-gluten allergens are sesame seeds and tapioca they confirmed that their bread did not contain tapioca starch. They were also able to assure me that the options I had chosen were sesame free too.

The food was excellent. Fresh and delicious and spot on from a nutritional perspective too. I was pleased that some of the gluten free dishes also appeared on the main menu i.e. a carrot cake on both menus that is exactly the same cake is unusual and should be noted.

I thought it was really good quality food at an expected price. I'd be very happy to eat there again. In fact I saw their Christmas menu on the bar and took a copy!'
